Miniature golf at Pine Creek in West Amwell, New Jersey. So much fun! I've only played maybe two or three times before and probably not at all in the last fifteen years (or half!) of my life. I played 72 strokes on the upper, purportedly easier, par 55 (!) course. I must say, I had some brilliant strokes, and I didn't lose my ball (permanently) once! Of course that tells you I had some ghastly strokes too, but never you mind.
Pine Creek is a nice setting. It feels something like a botanical garden, and, on a Wednesday evening anyway, was nearly deserted.
We proceeded after golf to Lambertville, New Jersey. We inspected the Delaware River, which has been flooding its banks for the third year in a row. The bridge to New Hope, Pennsylvania had been closed, and several streets were flooded and closed as well. (At home in Clinton, the South Branch of the Raritan River flooded over the stone retaining wall in front of the Hunterdon County Art Museum.)
We had planned to find dinner in Lambertville, but all the restaurants were closed. So, the Clinton Station Diner (my rating, 5/10) at home in Clinton, New Jersey it was.
This is my bit of a blog. Rambling words about rambling days. No focus and nothing ambitious. I seem to write most about local color, nature, and animals, and there is an incomplete chunk about my road trips of 2011.
