Frenchtown (Hunterdon County, New Jersey). From high upon the iron truss bridge, spied fat, grey carp milling about the lazy Delaware River bottom.
Proceeded, perhaps unwisely given the hundred-degree heat wave, on a short but very steep hike (about 325 feet gained in elevation over two tenths of a mile) up to Devil's Tea Table, high rocks with landscape views any Hudson River school painter would admire. Complete with vultures perched, unconcerned, on branches in our immediate foreground, to provide depth perspective.
This is my bit of a blog. Rambling words about rambling days. No focus and nothing ambitious. I seem to write most about local color, nature, and animals, and there is an incomplete chunk about my road trips of 2011.
