This is my bit of a blog. Rambling words about rambling days. No focus and nothing ambitious. I seem to write most about local color, nature, and animals, and there is an incomplete chunk about my road trips of 2011.

Brain Food for the Birds

Walked the Landsdown Trail again today, in Clinton, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, and saw a heron kill and eat a fish. (Mmm, omega-3s.) The kill took some minutes and was not a swift death for the fish, nor an easy meal for the heron. In the end, the heron cleansed its palette with a few droughts of the South Branch of the Raritan River and then remained stationery for at least thirty minutes. Food tummy, you know.
