This is my bit of a blog. Rambling words about rambling days. No focus and nothing ambitious. I seem to write most about local color, nature, and animals, and there is an incomplete chunk about my road trips of 2011.

Robbinsville, North Carolina

Cute nineteenth/early-twentieth-century commercial buildings downtown. Hodgepodge of residences, many old. Many spots with good bones appear vacant. Town hall, elementary school, gas station, Philipps Motel, Stanley furniture. Could be walkable, but mostly autos.

Pleasant little shallow, high valley. Tiny, Mid-century bungalows on outskirts. All the customary chain stores down the hill from the old town.

Robbinsville to Franklin

Route 129, smaller road. Mostly forest. Some residences in gullies. Pretty.
