I regret I didn't bring any of my tools to Appalachia with me. I went to the hardware store today, to buy, among other things, a hammer. A man chatting with the shopkeeper observed and advised:
"Never buy something you work with. Buy a fishin' pole or a gun. But never buy anything you work with."
I asked where I could find a hammer, if I didn't buy one, but he couldn't tell me.
This is my bit of a blog. Rambling words about rambling days. No focus and nothing ambitious. I seem to write most about local color, nature, and animals, and there is an incomplete chunk about my road trips of 2011.
