So we have these curious machines around here. In supermarkets and convenience stores and similar. About the size of a gaming machine, though drab and purely utilitarian in appearance, without bright or colors or illustrations. With big display windows, showing a platform filled with quarters and other small tokens. A sort of fence pushes constantly back and forth against the quarters.
I think the idea is to tease passers by that, at any moment, a quarter might be pushed over the platform edge and dispensed. But none ever is.
A handwritten note is usually taped to the machines. Prohibiting bumping or rocking or shaking the machines.
This is my bit of a blog. Rambling words about rambling days. No focus and nothing ambitious. I seem to write most about local color, nature, and animals, and there is an incomplete chunk about my road trips of 2011.
