First full day on Petros's five-day Virginia getaway. We hiked a rocky ravine walk up to Cascade Falls. Four miles round-trip. Beautiful rocks and rock-steps. Petros liked the moss.
Ate dinner at Palisades restaurant, reviewed on Yelp.
Staying at Riverbend Inn bed and breakfast. New construction amid McMansions, but with fabulous river, mountains, train view.
Petros alarmed last night at hairs in bed. Also disappointed water pooling in shower. Woke up in a better mood.
This is my bit of a blog. Rambling words about rambling days. No focus and nothing ambitious. I seem to write most about local color, nature, and animals, and there is an incomplete chunk about my road trips of 2011.

Shenandoah Valley
Last weekend, with Petros, took a three-day road trip down to the Blue Ridge mountains and Shenandoah Valley. First time in area. Stayed in New Market, Virginia. Explored some hills westward, in West Virginia - first time visiting that state. Also took a guided horseback trail ride.
